This painting explores cardiac muscle from two different perspectives: longitudinal and transverse sections. Viewed lengthwise, the muscle fibres appear as elongated, highly organised structures, while in cross-section the same tissue transforms into clusters of rounded and irregular forms. Although these two views can seem almost unrelated at first glance, they belong to the same biological structure. By placing them together, the painting reflects on how dramatically our perception of something can change depending on where we stand and how we choose to look — while the underlying reality remains the same.
