In an age when images can be endlessly replicated — through print, through digital tools, through algorithms — reproduction has become effortless.
I choose to make something that takes time.
Art has always required duration. Think of painters who spent years on a single work — not only producing an image, but inhabiting a process. A painting carries the hours of attention, hesitation, revision, and shifting emotion that shaped it.
My works may not take years, but each one holds a sincere investment of time. Every drawing is made by hand, through sustained focus and presence.
No work is ever truly repeatable. Even when the subject remains the same, the moment does not. The light changes. The hand changes. The state of mind changes.
This is not unlike the biology I study. Within our bodies, cells and molecules are never static. At no two moments are they identical. Life is constant movement.
Each one-of-one piece in this collection is a brief still frame of that movement — a moment of time held in form.
